[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]For this project we were asked to re-design an existing CD Album cover, booklet, inlay tray, and poster for class at California State University East Bay. I chose to re-design Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks. In my research into the album I discovered that the CD was, more or less, the creation of a jam session between Van Morrison and a group of musicians he’d gathered in a studio. The band hadn’t been given any sheet music and the resulting songs didn’t have a unifying theme, although their similarity allow them to be played as a song cycle so I decided to use abstract imagery for the cover art to not give an exact image to the music. At the same time I wanted to use vibrant, cosmic inspired colors to draw into the title of the album.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
